Greater Manchester Pakistani Association (Gmpa) Limited was incorporated on 21 Aug 2013 and is located in Pakistani Community Centre 481 Stockport Road, Manchester, M12 4NN, United Kingdom. It gives focus to needs of the community and provides opportunities to get together.
We are the most recognised Pakistani organisation in Greater Manchester. We are open to all people of Pakistani descent & take pride in promoting Pakistani interests and culture while at the same time being a vibrant member of British Society.
Our overriding mandate is to serve the Pakistani community of Greater Manchester. In comparison to 1947 the Pakistani community has increased and now includes substantial representation from all corners of the country. GMPA has been the organisation facing the challenges of an expanding and dynamic community and we continue to evolve and change to address the needs of this growing population. We continue to serve our community with a group of selfless and tireless volunteers and continue to educate the mainstream community about Pakistan.
Our outreach is great and we strive to deliver to the needs of our community. Our efforts do not stop at just the Pakistan Day festivities. We are involved politically, socially and morally. We offer a full adult and youth sport league to the community along with participation in disaster relief efforts, family counseling, financial assistance and many other services.
GMPA works in Manchester and surrounding areas but not exclusively for the Pakistani community. It works with the inhabitants and local authorities, voluntary and other organisations. We work to advance the education of the inhabitants, to preserve their good health, and to provide facilities for social welfare, for recreation and other leisure time activities. It is an example of community self help because it was created by and is led by members of the community that it serves. The association also hosts events for the community to celebrate days of cultural and religious significance.
GMPA is dedicated to helping, not only the local Pakistani community, but at the same time by helping ALL other communities by operating an open door policy towards all.
At Pakistani Community centre we offer a range of classes and activities by working in partnership with other groups. Through this, we are able to offer a wider variety of services. The faith, trust and commitment from our community and partner organisations have helped us to overcome many obstacles and we are now in a stronger position than before. We strive to provide first class service and with regular feedback from our service users, we ensure that their social, cultural, educational and recreational needs are provided for in the best possible way.
